Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs/DOIs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is 1.5-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in How to ensure all files are anonymized have been followed.

Author Guidelines

  1. Language: Papers and reviews should be written in good English (either British or American standard, but not a mixture of both).
  2. Format. Please, use one of the standard word-processing formats (MS Word, Libre Office Writer, RTF). Keep a backup copy of the electronic file for reference and safety. Please, prepare the manuscript using 1.5 spacing and use a normal, plain font (e.g., 12-point Calibri).
  3. Abstracts. An abstract of between 100 and 200 words is required with the manuscript. A Slovene translation of the abstract should be submitted with the revised manuscript, once the submission is accepted for publication. The Slovene translation of the abstract will be provided by the editors of STRIDON for authors who do not speak Slovene.
  4. Keywords. A list 5 of keywords is required with the manuscript. A Slovene translation of the keywords should be submitted with the revised manuscript, once the submission is accepted for publication. The Slovene translation of the keywords will be provided by the editors of STRIDON for authors who do not speak Slovene.
  5. Text of the manuscript. The main body of the paper (including the references, figures, tables and any acknowledgements) should exclude any identifying information, such as the author(s)' name(s).
  6. Headings and subheadings. Headings and subheadings should be numbered (1, 1.1, 1.1.1) and in boldface. Please, use headings and subheadings to organize the text.
  7. Tables and figures. Tables and figures should be numbered and labelled.
  8. Paragraphs. Ensure that each new paragraph is clearly indicated. The text should be left-aligned, and no indenting should be used. Instead, a vertical white space should be added for a new paragraph.
  9. Material cited at length. Material cited at length should be indented.
  10. Footnotes. Do not use footnotes for referencing. Footnotes should be used sparingly. Do not use endnotes.
  11. Manuscript length. The recommended length is between 5,000 and 8,000 words (including abstract, references, appendices, etc.)
  12. References. STRIDON follows the Chicago Manual of Style author-date system (available at https://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/tools_citationguide/citation-guide-2.html).
