2021 ALA issues – Call for papers

The unexpected spread of the Covid-19 virus has drastically influenced our lives, our thinking and use of a language, our way of conducting schooling, etc. We therefore find it our duty to call for papers that involve discussions on any kind of change resulting from Covid-19 pandemic.
For the 2021 issues we thus welcome papers that include but are not limited to the following topics:

  • approaches to teaching and learning: changes and challenges
  • examination methods: new tools and measures for effective assessment
  • vocabulary and language use: adaptation to a new lifestyle

The chosen topic should be specific enough to allow scientific approach and discussion, as well as provide examples from one or several East Asian languages.

Editors of the ALA journal invite researchers to submit their research articles, short contributions, review articles, and others, for the 2021 winter and summer issues. Topics of the submissions should fit into the following theme.

ALA accepts new submissions on a continuous basis.

ALA is an interdisciplinary scholarly journal which accepts research papers, survey papers and technical notes on the subjects of Asian linguistics, translation studies and the teaching of Asian languages, book reviews on representative works on the same subjects and reports from outstanding events. ALA's articles are mostly written in English, Slovene articles with English abstracts are also accepted.

ALA encourages the interlinking of different linguistic disciplines, fosters dialogue among different theoretical orientations and their practical application, proposes new approaches to existing research themes, draws attention to relevant questions, and informs about recent findings and events in the above areas.
