Abstract

Since Ivo Petrić’s return to conventional measured notation in the 1980s, he has composed numerous new concertos. In four such works for solo instrument and orchestra, formal plans and instrumental techniques have remained similar even with the change of style.

Niall O'Loughlin, Loughborough University
Niall O’LOUGHLIN je angleški muzikolog, ki je študiral na univerzah v Edinburghu in Leicestru ter doktoriral iz Slovenske glasbe leta 1979. Bil je direktor Umetniškega centra in višji predavatelj glasbe na univerzi v Loughboroughu do svoje upokojitve leta 2006. Prispeval je članke za Tempo, The Musical Times, Muzi- kološki zbornik in Zvuk in predaval na mnogih znanstvenih srečanjih, v Cambridgeu, Leedsu, Prestonu, Utrechtu, Uppsali, Bergenu, Bratislavi, Krakovu, Radencih in Ljubljani. Njegova knjiga o Slovenski glasbi 20. stoletja, Novejša glasba v Sloveniji, je izšla pri Slo- venski Matici v Ljubljani leta 2000. Junija 2007 je postal dopisni član Slovenske akademije znanosti in umetnosti.
