Abstract

Music in Slovenia in the late 20th and the early 21st centuries tends towards either modernism or post-modernism. However, with the constant sharing of techniques by a wide range of composers, this distinction is becoming increasingly irrelevant.

Niall O'Loughlin, Loughborough University

Niall O’LOUGHLIN je angleški muzikolog, ki se je posebej ukvarjal z angleško, srednje- in vzhodnoevropsko glasbo 20. stoletja. Do upoko- jitve leta 2006 je bil redni profesor za glasbo in direktor Arts Centre na Loughborough University v Angliji. Kot avtor knjige Novejša glasba v Sloveniji (Ljubljana, 2000), vrste prispevkov za Muzikološki zbornik, Zvuk, The Musical Times, Musica-Realtá poljski simpozij Duchowość (Kraków, 2004), referatov na simpoziju Slovenski glasbeni dnevi in člankov v različnih publikacijah Slovenske akademije znanosti in umetnosti je bil na- grajen s Tovey Memorial Prize na University of Oxford in z imenovanjem v dopisnega člana Slovenske akademije znanosti in umetnosti leta 2007.
